President: For the first time in over two years President Obama will have sit-down interview with Fox News. The interview will be moderated by Chris Wallace and broadcast Sunday morning. The interview is set to cover Supreme Court nomination, 2016 election, and his presidential legacy. President is also scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles tomorrow evening where he will attend a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser.
Election: Last night Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders won party’s Wisconsin Primary. Ted Cruz won with 48% of the vote gaining 36 delegates. Current GOP stand; Trump 743 delegates, Cruz 517 delegates, and Kasich 143 delegates. 1,237 delegates need for GOP nomination. Sanders won with 56% of the vote pick up 48 delegates. Hillary Clinton leads the race with 1,749 pledged/super delegates and Sanders with 1,030 pledged/super delegates. 2,383 delegates are needed for the Democratic nomination. GOP candidate John Kasich has a shot at clinching nomination if both GOP rivals don’t reach 1,237 and Republican National Committee votes for the nominee.
World: According to the World Health Origination (WHO) reported that diabetes now affects 1 in 11 adults. In 1980, approximately 108 million had diabetes now that number has quadruped to 422 million in 2014. Diabetes is linked to 1.5 million deaths a year around the world. Dr. Etienne Krug, who leads the WHO effort against diabetes stated, “Diabetes is a silent disease, but it is an unrelenting march that we need to stop”.
Science/Tech/Health: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg demoed Facebook’s live-streaming service this afternoon. This new feature (Facebook Live) will allow for users broadcast themselves to their friends, particular group or events right from their Facebook Messenger app.
Elected officials: Yesterday Gov. Phil Bryant (MS-R) signs’ controversial “religious freedom” bill into law. This law HB-1523 pledges the state of Mississippi will not punish people who refuse services such as marriage, employment, property, and medical treatments to the LGBT community due to their religious beliefs.
