Happy Earth Day! A day to raise publican awareness of environmental issues. This day was set to help inspire people across the world to protect the plant, planting trees, and recycle. Today more than 150 world leaders gather at United Nations headquarters in New York City to sign historic climate change deal. This deal aims to help greenhouse gas emissions and help countries build a sustainable future. Secretary of State John Kerry stated in U.N. speech, “Nature is changing at an increasingly rapid pace due to our own choices.”
President: Today President Obama is in London for a three-day visit. The president along with First Lady Michelle Obama were greeted by Queen Elizabeth II, who turned 90 yesterday. Obama is also lobbying for the British to vote to stay in the European Union in their upcoming vote June 23.
World: Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has proposed that Mexican citizens can legally possess up to an ounce of marijuana. This proposition would legalize medical use, personal use, and the right to grow it. The proposal would not allow for the production or selling of marijuana, as for other illegal drugs too.
Election: Since the beginning, Bernie Sanders has been viewed by many as a candidate that has to chance to win. However, Senator Sanders has somehow found a way to press through. Yesterday, one of his top campaign affiliates stated that “he has a clear path to victory,” even after his big loss in the NY Primary. The story is much the same with the GOP second-place candidate, Ted Cruz.
