Election 2016: As of today Hillary Cilnton has declared herself as the Democratic Party’s nominee, if elected the nomiee Clinotn will face GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump. In a interview with CNN when asked if Trump was qualified to hold office, she said “NO’. Clinton believes Trump is not qualifed to be Commander in Chief and handle the roles as needed to respond to world siitatuions.
U.S.: China attempts to claim nearly 1.4 million square miles of the South China Sea. China controlling this region gives the nation control over a section that handles more than half of the world’s merchant shipping and other important resources. Several other Asian believe China with control over the region is “inconsistent with international law”. U.S. Navy operates in the region and has had several military encounters with Chinese fighter planes restricting carries or planes from entering the area. Vice minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, “The Chinese people do not want to have war, so we will be opposed to the U.S. if it stirs up any conflict,”.
World: EgyptAir Flight 804 has disappeared from radar over the Mediterranean Sea early this morning flying from Paris to Cairo, Egypt on board with 66 people. U.S. official believes the cause of this plan missing is a bomb exposing produced by ISIS that could have brought the plane down into the Mediterranean Sea; there is no hard evidence to indicated this theory yet. French officials along with Egypt are conducting an ongoing investigation and search mission.
House of Reps: House Democrats chanted “Shame, shame, shame” as seven Republican members switched their votes to block “anti-LGBT discrimination amendment in the 2016 Nation Defense Authorization Act” also known as the Russell Amendment. The measure failed 212-213, the Russell Amendment will allow federal contractors to cite their religious beliefs to discriminate against LGBT people.
Science/Tech/Health: Uber is currently testing self-driving cars and will soon test car on the streets of Pittsburgh, PA. A Ford Fusion is the car being used in the test; Uber believes self-driving cars have the potential to save lives. In a cited statistic 94% of car accidents killed more than 1.3 million people were due to human error.
