Election 2016: According to a poll by CBS, Hillary Clinton is now leading by six points over Donald Trump, 43% to 37%. Although both parties have had an unsurprised amount of dislike, they are still the front runners of their parties. Both sides are still struggling for likelihood.
Economy: Philadelphia has become the first major city in the U.S. to tax soda. Phil city council approved a 1.5 cent-per-ounce tax on sugary and diet drinks all the tax money will go to help pay for pre-k, community schools and local recreation centers.
U.S. Senate: Senate Democrats end a 15hr filibuster after Republicans agree to allow votes on two gun control proposal. The first proposal, whether people on the government’s terrorist watch list should have gun licenses. Second, expand background checks to gun shows and online sales.
U.S.: After the Disney incident, the child’s body was found intact. Although, it is believed that authorities had to kill five alligators while searching for the boy’s body.
World: British lawmaker, Jo Cox died after she was attacked. It is believed that the lawmaker was first shot, and then stabbed to death. After the incident, there was a suspect arrested, a fifty-two-year-old man who is still under investigation.
Science/Tech/Health: Astronaut Scott Kelly describes the effects of space on the human body as he spent one year in the International Space Station. Kelly experienced a serious of radiation exposure, vision problems, and loss of muscle mass due to low gravity. “The environment astronauts are exposed to while in space is unlike anything we experience here on earth,” said Kelly.
Entertainment: Former Miss USA contestant, Samantha ‘Sami’ Edwards from North Dakota was found dead at the age of 37 in her home in Minneapolis on Tuesday. Authorities are awaiting for her autopsy results to determine the cause of her death.
